The Rodeo

The Rodeo started her career in the States with her hit "On the Radio . After touring the US she launched her first album "Music Maelström " in her homeland France. la révèle dans son pays.
Singer and guitarist, Dorothée, is in fact the unique meber of The Rodeo ( a name which she borrowed from the Byrds's album "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" (1968).

With the experience she aquired with her former band "Hopper" Dorothée brought out her first EP in June 2008 under the surprising title "My First EP by The Rodeo". With this album she anounced the colour and sound of her style and identity. Influenced by the Californian folk of the 70's and the creme de la creme of Indie Folk today, Dorothée followed her dream by travelling and singing outside France, (USA, Canada, germany, Switserland, Finland, England, etc..). With just her voice and guitar, and some bells atached to her ankles, she played slaoons, bars and bigger stages, continualsy pushing the limits and adapting her style and songs to the audience in front of her.

Today, with her album"Music Maelström" The Rodeo is hitting the charts in France. The rodeo is an unpolished diamant, like her album. With eleven songs which breathe out freedom and the liberty she takes to present her songs, sometimes somewhat destructured, and with the feel of a Maelstrom full of flutes, violin, banjo, steelguitar and percussion. An album with which The Rodeo tries to talk to us speaking about the big all consumming world. The rodeo might take folk, indiefolk, or americana if you want, to a different level in France.
